EDS To Locate At The Purdue Research Park
Technology developer EDS recently announced it will locate
its national software solution center at the Purdue Research
Park in West Lafayette, where it expects to create more than
200 software engineering business analyst positions by 2012.
The company is leasing 13,000 square feet of office space at
the park while its facility is constructed in the park, expected
to open in 2009. EDS currently employs more than 1,000
people in the state of Indiana. From the new location, the
company will develop technology solutions for its commercial
and government health care clients located around the world.

St. Cloud Receives Bioscience
Zone Designation
The greater St. Cloud area has been designated as the
Central Minnesota Biosciences Zone, a six-city effort. The
cities of St. Augusta, Sartell, St. Cloud, Waite Park, St. Joseph
and Sauk Rapids filed a joint application for the zone status
for nearly 467 acres. The designation will further the efforts
of the Science Initiative of Central Minnesota, a coalition promoting the area to biosciences firms. To learn more about the

GE Aviation Selects Missouri For New Center
GE Aviation recently announced it selected the Missouri
University of Science and Technology in Rolla (formerly the
University of Missouri-Rolla) for a new university development center. “The engineering curriculum and academics at
Missouri S&T are complementary to the skill set and requirements within our aerospace programs,” said Stuart Mullan,
president of the digital systems business of GE Aviation, at the
time of the announcement. “This center will create a strong
pool of emerging engineers to provide design and development work for our aerospace programs.” The new facility is
projected to create at least 30 engineering positions within two
years. The staff will perform various engineering services
including software development, verification and validation,
